What is an endodontist?

An endodontist is a root canal specialist. This requires an additional two years of education and specialized training. Some dentists refer root canal patients to an endodontist. We are fortunate that Dr. Eric Francom is trained as an endodontist.

How do you know if you need a root canal?

If you notice any of these symptoms, make an appointment at one of our offices for an evaluation:

  • Gum Pain
  • Tooth Pain
  • Tender Teeth
  • Pus drainage in your mouth
  • Swelling or tenderness in your lymph nodes
  • Prolonged sensitivity to cold or heat

What is a root canal treatment?

A root canal involves removing diseased pulp along the tooth’s nerve. The pulp chamber and root canal of your tooth are cleaned, medicated and sealed. We may also use a dental crown or another treatment to provide strength to the tooth. If a root canal is not performed in time, the tooth may need to be removed.
